Who it suits
Each line below should sound like your situation. If one is off, say so on the call and we will point you to the service that fits.
- You need three or more people working as one team.
- You want one lead who is accountable to you, rather than several individual reports.
- You want the team recruited, paid, supported and reported on as a unit.
- You want to keep direction with your manager, and let the lead run the day to day.
Step by step
How an engagement runs
The steps below are the whole engagement, in order, with a named account owner on every one of them.
-
Brief the function
What the team is for, what it produces, who it works with on your side, and how you will know it is working.
-
Design the pod
Together we set the roles, the lead, the hours, the tools and the reporting. You approve the design before we search.
-
Shortlist the lead in five business days
The lead comes first, because the lead helps choose the team. Every profile has had a live identity interview before you see it.
-
Build the team
Members follow, shortlisted the same way. You interview and approve each one.
-
Set up
Agreements, payment, tools, a written playbook and the reporting cadence. Setup is a one-time step at the start of the pod.
-
Check-ins at day 7, 30, 60 and 90
With you, with the lead, and with the members. Then a monthly report from the lead, reviewed with your account owner.
-
An annual compensation review
Once a year, with each professional in the room.

Pods, compared with the other three
Pods rather than Embed. When the work needs three or more people and one accountable lead.
Pods rather than Search. When you want the team engaged, paid and managed by us as a unit, rather than hired one by one onto your payroll.
Pods rather than Run. When you want to keep the direction and the process with your manager. Run is for handing over the outcome, and we offer it after a Pod has set a baseline.
Pods, answered
What is the smallest pod?
Three professionals, one of whom is the accountable lead.
What is the initial term?
A three-month initial term. The terms after that are set out in the agreement.
Can the pod grow?
Yes. Seats are added the same way the first ones were: you approve the design, we shortlist, you interview and choose.
Who manages the members day to day?
The lead does, against the priorities you set. Your account owner stays accountable for the engagement as a whole.

Tell us what the work is
A short call is enough to start. We will ask about the work, the manager and the timing, and say plainly whether Pods fits or another service does.
